  • "A Logistic Regression Equation for Estimating the Probability of a Stream in Vermont Having Intermittent Flow"

    Background

    Mike Brouillette manages the development and maintenance of various statewide databases, conducts system administration on the VCGI LAN, and is the Vermont NHD steward.

    Mike received his B.S. in Resource Management from the University of New Hampshire with a minor in Environmental Conservation (1987). In 1992 he began his GIS career at the Windham Regional Planning Commission in his family’s hometown of Brattleboro, VT. This led to a position at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Cold Regions Research and Engineering Lab in Hanover, NH. While there, he employed both GPS and GIS technology on an EPA superfund site on the Ft. Richardson Military base outside of Anchorage, AK. Moving to Montpelier in 1995 with a position at Stone Environmental Inc., he gained valuable private sector experience in utilizing GIS for a number of environmental applications. In early 2001 Mike came to the Vermont Center for Geographic Information to assist in their mission of developing high quality data for the Vermont GIS user community.

    Responsibilities:

  • Manages all aspects of data development for statewide databases.
  • Employs national and state standards for quality assurance/quality control to ensure the integrity and accuracy of both existing data and data under development.
  • Develops appropriate data standards, guidelines and procedures.
  • Coordinates GIS activities with state, town and regional GIS service departments, as well as, the private sector.
  • Provides technical oversight of RFPs, specifications, and contracts for database development.
  • Supervises technical staff on projects involving data development, conversion, maintenance and analysis. .
