David came on board as Executive Director in the latter part of January 2000. Prior to coming to VCGI he has worked in the Mapping/Spatial Data/GIS environment for over 20 years. During that period of time he has seen the transition of spatial data technologies shift from an entirely analog graphic focus to today's digital technologies capable of integrating and displaying multi-disciplinary data on demand.
David has a B.S. in Education from Kutztown University in Pennsylvania. Prior to his current position, David worked for Marconi Integrated Systems Inc., Intergraph Corp. and Geonex Corp as a Federal contractor providing mapping and spatial data engineering support to NIMA, USGS, NOAA and other Federal Agencies. During that period he was instrumental in new data product development, user requirement definition, large spatial data storage technology implementation, numerous mapping system implementations, remotely sensed data product development and distribution, system testing and contract and program management.
David and his wife Catherine moved to Vermont in search of snow and a change of pace from their previous home in Northern Virginia. He and his family enjoy numerous outdoor activities all year round including cross country skiing, ice skating and gardening.
